What was the first song you learnt?

I think one of the first songs I learnt properly was James Taylor's 'How Sweet It Is' that I sang with my Dad on guitar.

What's your favourite memory of your early musical life?

I grew up in a very musical household as my dad was a professional musician, so my fondest memories are of jamming at home with my dad and my brothers and sisters singing and playing all our favourite tunes.

What made you want to play music in the first place?

It was pretty hard to escape since there was always music being played (live and recorded) in our household so it was such a part of my life and who I was that I couldn't think of doing anything else!

How old were you when you started playing?

I started singing as young as I can remember, then started playing the piano at around age 5.

Who were your musical heroes/idols back then?

Obviously my dad was number one idol in the beginning! Then all the great artists we used to listen to at home including James Taylor, Al Jarreau, Steely Dan, Sting, etc.

What was the name of your first band?

'The Mystiques' #cringe
