What was the first song you learnt? The Baby Elephant Walk
What’s your favourite memory of your early musical life? Sitting on my dad's lap as a really small kid and him making my hands play songs on the piano (Baby Elephant Walk was one of them)
What made you want to play music in the first place? I was always surrounded by music but I think when I performed for an audience for the first time I knew I wanted to keep doing music
How old were you when you started playing? About 6, but I got really serious about piano at the age of about 13
Who were your music heroes/idols back then? Who are they now? When I was 13, I was really obsessed with Ben Folds, Tori Amos people who played piano and made it seem cool... I got my first Ben Folds album and learnt every song on it which is what really got me playing well... These days my heroes are closer to home, I am really inspired by my friends and the people around me, its exciting to watch people create and evolve over time, and to hopefully be a part of that.
What was the name of your first band? Sea Ten
Alyx Dennison is a solo artist from Sydney and was a member of pop darlings, Kyû.
