MASSIVE BAND is socially oriented music project created by Bree van Reyk which brings together 100 or so girls, womxn, trans and non-binary folks into one giant, massive, rock band.
MASSIVE BAND is open to any women, girls, women-identifying and non-binary folk who've ever wanted to play in a band.
No prior musical experience required. Just come along and play. We have mentors on board for the workshops and open rehearsals.
Through a series of open public workshops, Bree will develop and rehearse a set of songs alongside an improvised soundscape, specifically tailored to work with this large-scale ensemble.
The premiere performance was on Saturday October 17th 2015 at the Campbelltown Arts Centre around sunset, commissioned by the CAC Contemporary Music Program.
